How Do I Convert a Sub-Template Into A Template?

I'd like to convert my sub-template into a template.

Resolution Steps:

There is no method to directly convert sub-templates into templates. However, it is possible to insert a sub-template into a template. You can use this functionality to create a new template that contains all the contents of the sub-template.

Steps:

1. Create a new template (Avatar --> Feature Settings --> Registry Settings --> Template Collections --> select the template collection where you want your template to live --> Blue 'Create' Button --> Entry Template).
2. Insert the sub-template into the new template. You can pull up the list of available sub-templates by either:
   1. Going to the 'Insert' menu at the top left of the Template and select 'Sub-Template', or
   2. Typing the command /sub-template anywhere in your entry
3. Insert the sub-template. If using Template Publishing, be sure to publish your new template to make it available for use. If not using Template Publishing, your template will save automatically, and you can close the window or navigate to another page in Benchling when you are finished making changes.
