Step 1: Find the Tasks with Failed Mapping
There are two options for finding the list of tasks with failed mappings:
1. If you are a Tenant Admin and have received an email notification regarding the Failed Mapping:
- Click the 'View all tasks with mapping issues' link. This link will take you to a search dashboard that has already been filtered to show only tasks with failed transitions.
2. If you have not received an email or would like to fix the issue directly from your Benchling tenant: - Go to the Workflows Tab
- In the 'View' dropdown, select 'Workflows'
- In the 'Type' dropdown, select 'Workflow Task'
- In the 'Filters' dropdown, create a new filter. Scroll down to the 'Workflow Task' header and select 'Failed Mapping' (this option is at the very bottom of the list, you may need to scroll to see it).
- The search dashboard should now display only Workflow Tasks with failed mappings.
Step 2: Fix Failed Mapping
There are two options for fixing failed mappings:
1. From the Workflows Dashboard:
Select the task by clicking on the checkbox.
- Click the “Fix failed mapping” button located in the action bar to the top-right above the table. This will open up a modal explaining the error.
- Click on ‘fix error’ to open a modal that will allow you to configure the correct mapping. Follow the prompts in the modal to manually select the downstream node(s) and fill out the task and/or output fields. Submitting the final page of this modal will fix the mapping issues for the selected task.
2. From the flowchart, task group, or task details page:
- Navigate to the Flowchart, Task Group, or Task Details page of the affected task. A 'Fix mapping errors to continue this workflow' message will be shown at the top of the page and an error icon will be shown on the affected task in the flowchart.
- Click the 'View & fix error(s)' link in the red error box.
- If the error is on a single task, this link will open a 'Fix failed mapping errors' modal directly on the task details page. Follow the instructions in the modal to resolve the failed mappings.
- If the error is for a task group, this link will take you to the workflows dashboard filtered by these failed tasks. Please follow instructions above for 'From the Workflows Dashboard' to resolve the failed mappings.
