Failed EventBridge Events

What happened?

On February 21, 2025, as part of a routine Validated Cloud Release, a breaking change from a vendor was inadvertently introduced that caused AWS Lambda runtime failures for EventBridge Events. This caused all subscribed Events executed on Validated Cloud Preview tenants between February 21, 2025 and February 26, 2025 to fail. A record of these failed Events was retained.

How do I know if I am impacted?

Not all customer tenants were affected by this issue. This issue impacted Validated Cloud Preview Tenants only. No Production Tenants were affected, and no non-Validated-Cloud Tenants were affected.

How is this issue being resolved?

A fix for this bug was included in the February 26, 2025 Val Cloud Patch. Benchling will re-try all failed tasks for you after the Patch is complete. No action is required from you.

How does this affect me?

Though this may have caused delays during the affected period (February 21, 2025-February 26, 2025), this issue has not caused any long-term impact to your tenant.

If users submitted an EventBridge task and then completed the same task manually upon failure of the EventBridge task, duplicate data may have been generated when Benchling re-tried the failed tasks.

If this occurred in your tenant, and you require any assistance managing these duplicates, please contact support@benchling.com.
