Question

What happens to the sequence data I enter into the AlphaFold program in Benchling? Can anyone outside my company see it? Is it being used to train a data model?

Environment

AlphaFold, AI, Molecular Biology

Answer

AA sequences are kept confidential and secure following industry best practices. We do not send AA sequences for structure predictions to AlphaFold or other third-party software. We are running AlphaFold on our own ML infrastructure. And we do not, in any way, aggregate customer data or use customer data to train AlphaFold. The AlphaFold model is trained by DeepMind on publicly available datasets.
