What is the difference between the nucleotide or protein match type?

When importing a sequence, you need to choose nucleotide or protein as a match type.

Resolution steps 

Match type "protein" will be used to auto-annotate both proteins and sequences, while match type "nucleotide"  only applies to sequences and will not create new annotations on protein entities.
