Create folders to organize data within projects

What are folders?

Folders add an additional level of organization to your Notebook entries and sequence files. Folders are nested within projects.

If you're working in a personal project, we recommend using folders to separate different workflows or experiments within your project. 

If you're working in a project shared with your organization, you may choose to create folders for each lab member working in that project.

Create a folder

Open the project in which you want to create a folder.

Create a new folder in your project by clicking the plus icon, and then "Folder".

Give the new folder a name. Verify the location of the folder (the project in which the folder should be nested). Click "Create Folder".
