Archiving ensures that data in Benchling is not erroneously deleted. When data is archived, it is hidden from working view. You can easily search and recover any archived data.
Archive an entity
Note: Archiving an entity will not archive child entities associated with it.

Go to your Registry entity's Metadata tab and navigate to the Archive button.
2. A pop up will ask you to select the reason for archiving the entity and a Registry Action. A Registry action is required in case you would like to unregister the entity.Note: If you archive an entity without unregistering it, the name and Registry ID will be unavailable for future entities.
