Overview
The Location History Report enables users to:

View all storables, containers, plates, entities, reagents, and samples in a location during a specified time.

Track movements and changes affecting inventory objects over that time.
This is especially useful for auditing, such as identifying compromised samples during freezer downtime.
Who Can Use This Report?

Permissions Required
To export and view a Location History Report, users must have:

Read permissions for the selected location and its contents.

Permissions for entities referenced in the report (e.g., "Entity Name" and "ID"). Rows will be redacted if users lack permissions.
How to Access and Export the Report

Navigation
You can generate the report from:Metadata page of a location
Global search (select one or more locations)
Inventory search (select one or more locations)2. Selecting Locations and Filters
When exporting multiple locations simultaneously, a .zip file containing individual reports for each location will be emailed.

Use the date range selector to define a specific time frame (optional). Invalid date inputs or overlapping entries will trigger error messages.
Generating the Report

Click the "Export" button and choose the format and date range.

A toast notification will confirm your request.

A download link will be emailed once the report is ready. Note: Links expire after seven days.

Columns Overview
Each report includes:

Entity Details: Name, API ID, study, and project affiliation.

Location Path: Hierarchical path and grid position within the storage location.

Enter/Exit Actions: Actions and timestamps marking when items entered or exited the location.

User Information: User's name and handle for actions taken.
Appendix
The appendix includes:

Rows redacted due to permissions.
- Historical name changes of location objects, sorted alphabetically by current names.
Important Notes

Reports are emailed and cannot be downloaded directly.

If generation fails due to timeouts or errors, an error notification will be sent.
