In Vivo Dosing Sync

We have released an important update to our In Vivo sync that introduces a valuable new feature for animal dose history.

New Behavior:

Once configured, the In Vivo Sync app will create Results against each animal with In Vivo dosage information. Each dose is logged as a unique Result including entity links to the associated animal and treatment, dosing information and the datetime of dose administration. This feature is purely additive in functionality; no existing functionality will be lost with the enablement of this feature.

Opting in to the automated configuration of this feature will only sync new dosing data. If legacy data is desired, see the section below titled Legacy Data.

Configuration:

We will create a new In Vivo Study Animal Dosing Result schema and map the schema and associated fields in the In Vivo Sync App configuration page, this can be completed automatically for all tenants that opt in to this update. Otherwise, this can be manually configured at a later stage. After this is completed, the dosing data will begin to sync from your In Vivo tenant into your Benchling BioResearch tenant as animal results.

Legacy Data:

If you desire to sync previously recorded dosing data into Benchling, you can perform a backfill from within the In Vivo Sync app in your Benchling BioResearch tenant. Note that this will backfill all data available from In Vivo via the In Vivo Sync (i.e. not just dosing data).

We recommend running the backfill during off hours to limit disruptions to usual syncing.

  • In Benchling BioResearch, navigate to the Connections page
  • Select the tab titled Apps
  • Select In Vivo Sync in the list of Apps

  • In the In Vivo Sync app, enter in the desired date from which you would like to backfill data. This specifies the day to which the sync will backfill data.
  • Select Run In Vivo Backfill to begin the backfill. The time for completion will vary depending upon how much data is going to be backfilled.

You can reach out to support@benchling.com at any point for instructions on how to manually enable this feature.
