In Benchling in Vivo each animal can be assigned a disease induction date which represents the date that the disease or symptoms of the disease being researched were induced, for example; tumor implantation date.
This date is recorded on the animal and can be used to define the day that is being selected for analysis calculations using the Study group summary tables in the analysis section under graphs.
Set the disease induction date
- Select all animals to which a single date applies for Disease induction.
- Click the Bulk actions menu and select Set disease induction date.
- Select the date, then click Save.
View the disease induction date
- Click on the show menu
- Select disease induction date
- this will add a column to the animals table
Using the disease induction date
To use the disease induction date when generating summary tables in analyses:
- In graphs, click the Analysis tab at the top of the page. If this tab isn't available, contact support@benchling.com to enable the feature.
- Click Options to set up your summary table.
- In the final step of the Options form, define the day for analysis. This can be the days from tracking date or the days from disease induction date. The selected day is used in any calculation that requires data from a specific date.
- Click Apply.
Note: At this time, the use of disease induction date is only relevant for the generation of summary tables in analysis. We hope to add more functionality in the future.
