Note: This article refers to setting up SSO in Benchling In Vivo. For setting up SAML/SSO on your core Benchling tenant, please refer to Configure SAML Single Sign-On for Benchling.

SAML-based single sign-on (SSO) allows you to integrate a supported identity provider (IDP) with Benchling In Vivo. Once SAML/SSO is configured, users will be forced to sign in to Benchling In Vivo through the chosen IDP. This allows you to tie all accounts to a centralized directory, enforce password requirements, implement multi-factor authentication, and more.

Configure SAML/SSO with Okta and Azure AD identity providers (IDP)

An admin can configure Okta and Azure AD SAML/SSO on a Benchling In Vivo tenant using the following steps:

  • From the Benchling In Vivo navigation bar, select the Manage Teams icon.
  • Select Integrations and select Single sign-on.
  • Select either the Active Directory (Azure) tab or the Okta tab and complete the listed fields.
  • Finally, toggle the option to enable Azure AD or Okta to enforce SAML/SSO on your tenant.

For a detailed guide on how to setup each of these providers, please see the relevant articles in the Integrations section.

If you do not have the option to configure Single sign-on, please contact your Benchling In Vivo lead to setup single sign-on (SSO) with Okta or Azure AD.

Configure SAML/SSO with other identity providers (IDP)

Please contact Benchling Support at support@benchling.com to setup single sign-on (SSO) with other identity providers that are not Okta or Azure AD.
