Ensure the standardization of any repeatable experiment that is represented as an Entry Template.

Fill In Only Templates

Traditionally, when users create new entries based off of an Entry Template they are able to modify everything. This is an issue in compliant lab settings where users simply should not be able to modify defined procedures. Fill-in Templates mitigate these concerns by allowing admins to simply lock down a Template and ensure users are only able to fill in data and not change anything meaningful.

Creating a Fill-in Template

Once the feature flip is enabled, users can set Templates to be fill-in only in the Template Header. After enabling this, the template itself will remain editable, but the entries that are created from it will be fill-in only.

On Fill-in Entries, users will only be able to:

  1. Fill in table data

  2. Check checkboxes

  3. Attach files into upload placeholders

Users will be unable to do anything else. Notably:

  1. Delete any component (table, paragraph, header, etc.)

  2. Modify components outside of what is listed above

  3. Add components to the entry

Locking a Column

On any Template, users can lock a column on any table. This prevents users from being able to make any changes to it. This is done in the Column Header Context Menu. Columns will appear read-only in entries and have a Lock icon in the column header.
